Thirty Wishes for My Thirties

In honor of my recent birthday, here are thirty wishes, hopes, and self-reminders I have for the decade ahead.

one) Recognize your worth and do not let others disregard it

two) Trust your creativity and follow those artistic instincts

three) Expand beyond your comfort zone when you have an new idea

four) Do not postpone dealing with your health

five) Do not postpone enjoyment for the “right timing”

six) Honour your boundaries and do not let others cross that threshold

seven) Move at your own pace. There is no set timeline

eight) Let go of comparison. Life is not a competition

nine) Let go of those who have let go of you

ten) Hold on to those who have always been there for you

eleven) Be open to making new connections

twelve) Be willing to learn new things and new skills

thirteen) Do not let fear outweigh your aspirations

fourteen) Do not allow outside forces influence decisions that are yours to make

fifteen) Stay soft. It is okay to be vulnerable

sixteen) Stay brave. Even when you don’t think you can be

seventeen) Reach for adventure. It won’t come to you

eighteen) Keep indulging your inner child

nineteen) Keep getting excited about the little things (full moons, cows in fields, miniature furniture)

twenty) Put the phone down more often

twenty-one) Find the inner discipline I know you possess and finally stick to routines

twenty-two) Do not let pride prevent you from admitting you were wrong

twenty-three) Turn your Pinterest boards into reality

twenty-four) Embrace the weirdest parts of yourself

twenty-five) Remember that today’s rain does not wash away yesterday’s progress

twenty-six) Remember you are not a burden. Ask for help when you need it

twenty-seven) You are not an inconvenience. Never apologize for your feelings.

twenty-eight) Never take your blessings for granted

twenty-nine) Accept that your dreams may evolve over time

thirty) Throw more lavish garden tea parties
